FashionEVO Lights Up Africa Creative Market Fashion Day

On September 19, 2024, Lagos was alive with excitement as FashionEVO hosted the Africa Creative Market (ACM) at the Landmark Event Centre. Olive Emodi served as the evening’s host. Although the event spanned the whole week, the fashion show occurred on Thursday night as the highlight.

FashionEVO partnered with well-known companies such as YD Company, Ascend Studios Foundation, Atlantic Exhibition, as well as Insigna Media. Other collaborators included Mahogany International, Rare Magic, Chivita, and Chivas Regal. Furthermore, they joined forces with Clickbooth, Detail Africa, Madiba Allure, Zaron, and Sephimage and BN Style contributed to the event. Together, they crafted an impressive experience that highlighted creativity, fashion, and innovation, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.

FashionEVO’s exhibition booth was the focal point of its exclusive pop-up store, offering guests a curated selection of fashion and beauty brands. Designers like Henri Uduku, GB Lagos, DWL, Tafe Organics, Dash Contents, and Detail Africa displayed their collections. They turned the space into a lively marketplace. Guests could explore and buy unique, trendy items.

Fashion Day, organized by FashionEVO on September 19th, gathered key figures from the fashion, creative, and digital industries. The event included masterclasses, keynote talks, panel discussions, and fireside chats on important topics in the industry. Prominent speakers featured Dr. Princess Oghene, the Founder of GMYT, Founder of Studio by Felix Crown; Ivie Osula, Founder of DWL; fashion influencer Angel Obasi; Titilayo Bello, Founder of TITI BELLO; Tinu Adesugba, Founder of 245 Creative Agency; and Mary Odoro, Head of Strategy at BellaNaija, among others.

Discussions centered on themes like Afrofuturism in fashion, collaboration with digital creators, attracting investors, and legal guidance for fashion entrepreneurs, with insights from Annie Oti, Founder of Africa Fashion Law.

The day culminated in a grand fashion show that was the highlight of the entire event. Guests arrived in stunning outfits that brightened the fashion show, creating a vibrant display of artistry. Their bold designs matched the event’s creative energy theme, resulting in a remarkable atmosphere of fashion and expression.

Awards were given to outstanding individuals for their important work in the fashion and creative industries. The honorees included Dr. Reze Bonna, Azuka Ogujiuba, Victoria Michaels, Ruth Osime, Omoyemi Akerele, Lanre Da Silva, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Mai Atafo, Sade Thomas-Fahm, and Bola Balogun.

Designers like Joseph Ejiro, Amarelis Atelier, Gbenga Artsmith, Jon Pelumi, Sketenle By Etti, Mmakamba, Henri Uduku, Dash Contents, GDWN, Shakara Trybe, Ciscacecil, Cute Saint,  and Kola Kuddus showcased their collections.

The show featured performances by renowned dancer Dr. Kaffy, a magical act by Fadan the Great, and a musical performance by Steve Caise.

Additionally, there was the official unveiling of FashionEVO’s future direction, led by the Founder, Dr. Yetty, and Dr. Inya Lawal. This moment marked the next chapter for FashionEVO, setting the tone for even more groundbreaking initiatives in the fashion space.
